A New Direction

I absolutely love what I do.

I get to meet new people all the time, create lasting memories, and remain friends with my clients long after they get the finished product...

But there is one thing about my job that I absolutely despise: PRICING. Every time I think about it, I just want to stick my fingers in my ears and go... la la la! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!

As a businesswoman, I have to think about taxes, the cost of prints, the amount of hours that go into each photo shoot, how much profit you need to make, new equipment, educating myself..... etc., etc., ETC.! Are you sticking your fingers in your ears now?

So a few weeks ago, after legalizing my business, I decided to put together packages with a limited number of prints in them, like I have seen other "real" photographers do. But as I talked with Lee, laid out the prices, and decided what memories people could and could not have...I had this un-easiness in my stomach. I now know that the feeling was the Holy Spirit checking me. And so I went on...released the prices...and continued to feel un-easy.
By trying to be like other photographers, I had begun to lose who I was.

And finally, a few days ago, God revealed to me what I should do: Go back to the basics.

So!  God speaks. Julianne Milne listens!

So I am throwing all of my "old" pricing out of the window, and making things as simple as possible: I am going to let you guys build your own package. Just choose what you want (portrait or wedding) plus any add-ons, and there is your price.

Gallery Wraps and Homecoming

Hey there! Things have been super exciting around here!

We just recieved a shipment of new business cards, ordered the 2012 Senior Book, and booked a homecoming event, which I will cover in a minute. I know what you're thinking....that's exciting?...this girl must not get out much.... You may be right, but I'm still excited ;)

Anyway,I wanted to share some photos of the gallery wraps that are offered in wedding packages:

There you go!

Now, on to Homecoming Events! Last year, I had one of my wonderful clients ask me to take photos of her daughters's group before Homecoming. You may remember the post I did about it. So, this year, she asked me to come back! Holla!

Luckily, I have learned ALOT since then, about photography and about business, which makes me even more excited.

Again, you're thinking....geez..she must not leave her house very often....

If you would to schedule me for a mini-photo shoot with your group before Homecoming, hit me up!

All You Need is Love...

You better not put these on Facebook! - Mawmaw Pete

Umm...I'm not making any promises....

I have the most awesome grandparents. Ever.
They are the perfect example of everything I want in my marriage. Godliness. Love. Compassion. Respect....and LAUGHTER!

Mawmaw and Pawpaw,

I love you two more than you could ever know. The love you have for your family overflows and spills out over all of us. You confidently pointed the way to Jesus and never gave up on any of us crazy grandkids, and for that I am eternally grateful. I hope to be half as amazing as you are some day.

Here's to 53 years of marriage. And many more.

All my love,
Julie
